Which Psychedelic Does What, And Which Is Best For You?
Psilocybin vs LSD vs San Pedro
Just a word of warning: don’t ignore my advice—and be sure to read to the end.
I’ve been microdosing for just under 3 years now, and it’s changed my life.
When I originally started, I was just microdosing psilocybin. But as time progressed, I leaned into LSD, and now I’ve been exploring San Pedro.
A lot of people ask me…
“What’s the difference between the three products?”
Let’s break it down.
But before I do, I want to explain what microdosing is because maybe you’re like, “What’s microdosing?” “Microdosing what?”
Microdosing is the intentional practice of consuming a subperceptual amount of a psychedelic over an extended period of time to help with anxiety, depression, endurance, creativity, productivity, addiction, and focus.
Let me name this loudly: you do NOT trip!!
It is called a microdose because you are taking a very, very, very small dose, and you’re still able to function normally throughout your day while taking it — driving, cooking, working, exercising, etc.
It’s a very subtle experience designed to help you feel slightly more focused, creative, emotionally aware, and productive.
And an experience that’s changed my life, along with countless others.
With that said, let’s talk about what psychedelic does what and which one is best for you (and where to order)…
Here’s the simplest way to understand it.
1. Psilocybin is emotional and body-based.
They’ll humble you. If you have any emotions that you’ve suppressed, psilocybin will bring them up to the surface for you to slowly face, process, and release.
Psilocybin is more body-based, so you’re going to feel more connected to yourself, your body, your emotions, and the world around you. It’s less “thinking about your life” and more “feeling your life.”
It’s a great option if you’re holding heavy emotions, want to release them, and deepen your connection to yourself, your intuition, and the world around you.
2. LSD is very cerebral.
This is my personal favorite.
It’s like your brain is on overdrive. It can feel electric, sharp, and vibrant, leading to philosophical spirals or perspective shifts.
You feel more aware of your mind here, which can help you tackle work projects and creative tasks and improve your pattern recognition. The mind and its perceptions feel more alive here.
This is a great option if you want an extra boost of creative flow (even Steve Jobs took LSD in the 70s and said it was one of the most important experiences of his life because he believed it influenced how he thought about creativity, design, and thinking differently).
And 3. San Pedro…
San Pedro is heart-centered. It’s softer. Longer. More grounded.
If you are new to microdosing and are worried that psilocybin or LSD might be too intense for your personal system, then San Pedro is a beautiful option for you.
It feels more gentle and more compassionate. It’ss less intense mentally and less emotionally turbulent and more steady and open. It feels very restorative and grounding.
So in simple terms:
LSD = mind expansion.
Psilocybin = emotional depth.
San Pedro = heart and connection.
All three of these are beautiful, expansive, and lively experiences. It’s simply about reflecting on where you are in your journey and what would feel more supportive to you at this stage.
I personally started with psilocybin, as I was moving through a heavy break-up at the time, and wanted to focus on moving through that heaviness in a more intentional way. In turn, it also helped me boost my flow and rhythm, deepen my intuition, and expand my sense of creativity and connection.
Over time, I shifted to LSD, and it’s my boyfriend’s and my personal favorite.
We love taking a microdose and going on a hike or snowboarding because everything feels more alive and radiant. It also helps my workflow, as it allows me to tap more deeply into my creative well and foster a broader perspective, which helps me better support my clients with their obstacles.
Lately, I’ve been exploring San Pedro because it’s gentler on the system, and as I’ve been navigating some obstacles in my personal and emotional world, it’s helped me slow down and connect more with my heart.
If you’re exploring microdosing or psychedelic work, the only company I trust enough to share here is Golden Rule.
They offer thoughtfully crafted psilocybin, LSD, and San Pedro products, made with real intention and integrity.
